CARC 1987 REPORT
On reviewing events affecting the Canadian Arctic in 1987, it is possible to make two general observations: first, that the future of the region is turning on both international and domestic events as never before; second, that the inter-relationships among various policy considerations-the environment, the economy, sovereignty and security-are becoming more intimate, more complex, and more pressing. The year ahead will likely see a continuation of these trends.
